| Sir Gawain and the
Loathly Lady Sir Gawain and the Loathly Lady is a storytelling show with the actor in role as a medieval minutestrel who uses puppetry, music and dance to tell the story. King Arthur's kingdom has been threatened by the Black Knight and unless he can find the answer to a riddle the Knight will become King of England in his place.
On Arthurs search for the answer he meets the ugliest living creature he has ever seen - the Loathly Lady. She can give him the answer that he needs but in return he must promise to grant her one wish, whatever that may be . . . This is a new production of Sir Gawain, which the company originally toured in 1989. Particularly suitable for younger audiences in theatres and schools. Ages
4 and above |
"Everything
about the show was brilliant. I've been to lots of
children's theatre and was really impressed. The script,
the movement from narration to the puppets, the dancing! And the quality of the puppets" "Once
again, theatre shows how it can captivate young and old alike and
importantly bring classics to life for a 21st century audience. The
simplicity of the presentation drew us back to the experience of the
oral tradition. The actor understood irony and comic timing
perfectly" To download the right-hand photo for printing, click on the link gawain300.jpg When the image has downloaded, click on File and select Save As . Windows users can also right-click inside the image. |
