Play in a Day Workshop
In this day-long workshop we teach the children to make and perform with shadow puppets. Using storytelling, music and song we work towards a workshop performance at the end . We offer a choice of 4 stories for the workshop: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Jason and the Golden Fleece, Noah and the Flood and Momo-tara-san.

The workshop covers two sessions and one session is approximately two hours. The maximum group size is 25 (or one class), for ages 6 plus. We provide two workshop leaders, equipment and materials. Schools workshops are only available within a certain area - call for details.

Making shadow puppets

We offer three training sessions for primary school teachers:

Puppets in the Classroom is a general introduction to language development and puppetry techniques (2 hours)

Play in a Day looks at how to put on a play in the classroom using storytelling, shadow puppetry, music and song. It devlops craft skills, creative play and teamwork (2 hours)

Puppet Making provides ideas on how to make puppets, theatres and sets from paper and card (1-2 hours)
